Pages is suppose to be the equilivalent of Microsoft word, but in reality it blows Word out of the water, I have the iWorks '06 package and its definitely one of my favorite suites out there right now.

I bought the Apple Training series book on iWorks to fully learn the programs inside and out, I'm looking forward to using them in classes at school once I have some assignments that come up that could use it.

Well, it is sort of Adobe InDesign if you have ever used that piece of software.
