Hi I've had my MBP for about 6 months now and out of curiosity I ran the Apple Hardware Test and I got the error:

    4SNS/1/40000000: TGOD

I ran the extended test and did not get the error, but i ran the short one numerous times and got the same error over and over again. No peripherals are plugged in and my MBP has been running fine. I'm hoping its nothing serious, and that a future update may fix it but i just don't know. Should i be worried? Thanks.

Hmmmm... I got that same error when my mouse was plugged in. I unplugged it and ran it again and didn't get an error. But if you have no mouse plugged in, then I have no clue what it can be.

They say ignorance is bliss, and my gut feeling is that this could be one of those cases...however I just did a quick google search and it appears to be a common problem related to the logic board. There is advice in the links as to how to go about replacing your machine.

This is a logic board error. It has to do with your peripheral connections, I think. It may not cause any problems now, but will start to become obvious later on and it's best to go ahead and get it replaced.

Hey thanks for the link and answers guys. I was afraid of this happening, I have the AppleCare Protection plan so I will call eventually, I need my MBP for school right now so I will just wait until school is over. Hopefully nothing will happen until then. :(

Hmm, oddly enough I just tried it again with the mouse and didn't get an error anymore... it might have just messed up on the first time for me :s

I guess I might as well bring it up when I get it repaired this week...

your MacBook Pro has become self-aware.

get as far away from it as you can and never look back.
