If I'm on windows with bootcamp, and I attach a blu-ray player and use anydvd to remove the encryption on the disc and make an iso on the hard drive, can I then use an iso loader and play this back on OSX?

i'm not sure if thats allowed for discussion on these forums, but that being said... is there a problem playing the movie from Blu-Ray on the Mac side or are you just trying to make it so you don't need the disk? I can't answer your question, just curious on the reasoning for the question. i'm also assuming there isn't a Mac comparable program like Anydvd.

Well I'm not asking how to unecrypt a movie, I'm just asking if its possible to play one on a mac. Also, I'm not sure if anydvd is available for the mac, but I would use windows with that program anyway.

I'm switching over to a mac and since movies get rough handled a lot in my house, I was hoping to back them up to something like a Time Capsule and whenever the family wanted to watch a movie we wouldn't have to dig through them or keep them out since space can sometimes be an issue as well. I think this would work on a windows machine but I'm hoping to switch over to the mac and it would be an annoyance to have to reboot into windows whenever someone wanted to watch a movie. I realize most people do this to pirate movies, but that's not my intention. I simply want more convienence.

I hear ya. :) I have many nephews and they are over here all the time and basically the rule is... dont touch my stuff! hehe

I'm waiting patiently for someone to make the 400-500 disc Blu-Ray player like they had for regular DVD's. I use my notebook for playing movies on the road, but for now i just use my PS3 for Blu-Ray. I'd like to get a dedicated holder/player for 'em all.

Wish i could help on the mac side :) I just recently did OSX86 so I could re-learn what i've forgotten over the years and have yet to get into movies/video stuff on the Mac side.

I you have AnyDVD, you'll need the HD version, I forsee no problems for you. If you do have it you can rip them as well. Then you can watch them in VideoLAN. It works quite well.
