Black macbook, so it retains more heat as well. I can't imagine it being good. But it's such a nice day outside, and I want to sit in the sun and work.

I doubt it will have any bad effects on it aside from make it a little harder to it to dissipate heat from the system. Keep an eye on the heat, if it gets too hot, go back inside.

The sun isn't that bad, and it's early in the evening. And while I'm not dark-skinned, i'm not pale either (somewhere in between). So nah, no sunblock today.

Gorgeous day. If only I could fix my printer ....

if you keep your macbook out a long time in the sun, it might get burned.

if it gets burned, use aloe vera to help minimize pain and damage while it heals.

also- multiple burnings could cause cancer of the macbook later in its life.

Black matte macbooks have a 74,8% lower chance of developing plastic enclosure cancer than white glossy macbooks. So I guess our friend is lucky...

If you were where I am in August and it is about 110, then I would say keep it to short periods of time, but this time of year in Toronto, you'll be ok.

Not true. The sun is below the mass threshold in order for it to blow up. Also, In 5 billion years, it'll just enter into the enxt phase of its life cycle, expanding and becoming a red giant.

Either the film was wrong or you slept through some of it!!!

no it is definitely going to blow the hell up, haha, it is not "technically" going to "blow up" but blowing up is definitely part of the end of its life cycle, it will become massive consuming many different planets, some crazy things will happen, and then what will be left is something about the size of earth, and all life on earth will definitely be gone, but we have 5 billion years to deal with that it seems :p

i am putting what I saw pretty basically but I doubt it was wrong, it will definitely become insanely larger, but it will end its life much smaller than it is now.

Yes, it will expand, and it will eventually shrink as the outer layers are removed, eventually leaving the sun as a cool white dwarf.

Well I'm working outside again, under direct sun at 1:11 pm, and let me tell you, the keyboard can get really really really really hot (and that's in Halifax). So I think the verdict is yes, direct sun can be bad.
    Ouch my fingers...
