    to run wireless keyboards or mice?? i want to get the 12" ibook and is has no bluetooth

    No. There are wireless packages that rely on infrared. Those are actually more popular than Bluetooth alternatives.

    but since bluetooth does not rely on line of sight (a direct line between the notebook and mouse so that nothing is blocking the travel of the infrared) bluetooth is certainly superior.

    There are USB Bluetooth receivers available for those laptops that dont have Bluetooth built in.
