Flash vs. HTML 5. Flash vs. Silverlight. Flash vs. Android. Adobe vs. Apple.
Yes, there's a lot of controversy around Flash these days. I personally don't view Flash as being a core component of Adobe's primary business in the long term, so it probably doesn't matter if Flash fades away in the new 5 years. Yes, Flash was probably doomed when Apple decided the iPad would never support Flash, but slow adoption of Flash support for Android didn't help. If Adobe was truly interested in preserving Flash, they should have invested in their own Smartphone/Tablet OS. Yes, Adobe had the resources and could have entered the game. Instead, they were doomed by Android dithering and Apple's HTML5 optimism.
Of course, if Adobe wants to preserve flash, they could enter the bidding war for Hulu.

Karamazovmm Overthinking? Always!
^^hardly a possible scenario.
Since you think html5 is the solution (as I do), say how it can compete with flash? -
There's no excuse for them to need a DECADE to finally develop a functioning plug-in for mobile devices...and even then, it's glitchy and buggy. Just pause and think about how long it really took them. 2 full Windows revisions came out faster! Mediocre Mac support is just symbolic of the bigger issues on the Flash team. That's why Flash needs to go. You can't have the most popular internet plug-in held by a company who can't manage it effectively across platforms.
Also, Adobe can't afford Hulu.
Is Apple "hostile", or "indifferent" to Flash?
