Since XP can be dual booted on an Apple machine, is there a way to install OSX on, say, a barebone notebook as the primary OS instead of Windows? Or take a Windows machine and get rid of XP and install OSX as the OS? Hope that makes sense. Thanks.

It's against the EULA, so technically it's illegal, but yes, you can. Not entirely sure if you can do it as the main OS though, I've only seen it dual booted with windows. I'm not entirely clear on the whole process of making it run.

Apples do not use std bios hardware in their pc's. Apple does a signature check to make sure it's their hardware. There have been some hacks that allows it, but requires a developers copy of OSX.

It is illegal to attempt an install on non-Apple hardware, therefor it has no place in this forum. Thread closed.
