My Macbook is coming in tomorrow, but I've already got a new hard drive that I'm planning to install on it. How do I install the OS onto the new drive? Do I just assemble the new drive in and put the CD that comes with the Macbook in and it'll do everything for me? Thanks.

Yeah pretty much.
Leopard installer will know if you need to format or anything, and will do it for you.
Make sure you hold down the "Alt" button when turning on your computer after you've installed your HDD. And boot from the DVD. -

This is easier done than said

Give Apple a call if you run into any problem, a while ago when I was installing Leopard on my new HDD I had a little problem and they walked me through everything, even contacted the level 2 support while putting me on hold for 2 minutes. I was/(am still) very impressed with their technical support.

Sorry for being noob, but can I get a step by step instruction guide? I putted in the new HD, after that, I booted up the laptop and tried to put in the install cd, but it seems like the computer didn't want to take the cd in. Am I supposed to have the cd in there first, then turn it on? I'm confused. Thanks.
I am dumb. I thought the cd drive would "eat" the cd, instead I had to push it in. Everything is good now. -

OK. good luck anyway -.-

yeah thats the way the apple cd bay behaves you need to treat her like the first date. be a little forceful if you want to enter her - i mean put your cd inside of her.
you also need to press alt then holding it down so the system will boot to the cd.
