If you can run XP on a Mac Core Duo (in a dual boot situation), is it possible to run Mac OS on a Windows core duo notebook?

I want to buy a less expensive laptop, but I like the Mac OS and would like to set up a dual boot w/Win XP or just OS alone.

Anyone have comments on this?

Yes, you can run Windows XP on a Macbook.

    There are two ways:

Duo Boot: Install boot camp which allows to you switch between XP and OS X when you start up your PC.

In OS X: If you install parallels, you can run XP within the OS X operating system. Though the capability and performance is still lacking.

It's not legally possible, because the Mac OS X EULA specifically does not allow it to be installed on non-Apple hardware. Although there are people who have managed to install OS X on regular PC's, this is not something that can be discussed on the forum here.

I would say that if you do like Mac OS X, the best bet is to get an Apple laptop like the MacBook, which isn't quite so expensive (or else a used or refurbished MacBook Pro or MacBook, which can also be pretty reasonably priced). It's the only way you are more guaranteed to have a good experience with OS X, and not have to worry about some hardware not being supported, etc.

As Zadillo said there is no way to do it legally. Also, this has been covered several times, try searching. Thread closed.
