This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Hi, i need to know if my macbook pro comes with ichat or .mac account or if i have to buy this software or pay for ichat too...

    iChat is bundled into OS X. You can use iChat with an AIM account as well, so if you have one of those then you can just do that.

    .Mac is a web service hosted by Apple. You get 10 GB of storage space, a hosted .Mac webpage, new features like .Mac Web Gallery, an email account that you can use with Apple Mail and iChat, etc. It costs $100 US per year, but you can get it cheaper through eBay.
