I just though that you guys might want to hear about Apple's part in my life.

I was a hardcore Microsoft person for the longest time. Then the iPod came out. I had nearly every single one besides the shuffles. I stopped buying after the iPod Video.

Then I bought the iPhone. Then I bought the iPhone 3G. Then it broke. Then I bought another one. Then it broke again. Then I managed to get another one for free.

Now I'm hooked on the MacBook. I have one but I want all three sizes they have. They're just so awesome.

I am planning on buying the iPhone 3G S they day it comes out, even though I already have Cycorder on my 3G which records video. All the other features look pretty cool though.

SO WHO ELSE IS AN APPLE JUNKIE?

The iPod touch got me thinking about Apple. It was so easy to use and came in handy on vacation with movies, pictures, games and music. With 4 Vista computers in the house and everyone complaining about the OS it was only a matter of time. My wife was actually the first to switch but once I got my hands on hers I was hooked and ordered a MBP the same day. Now we have 2 MB and 1 MBP in the house. Sooner or later I'll replace the others.

Having all 3 sizes of the MBP does not make much sense. Getting the 13" and the 17" though might if you have the money. I am tempted to get the new 13" MBP as well. I really liked it when I first had the uMB. However the LCD was poor. Now that they fixed that issue... Having a 15 and the 13 seems rather redundant though, only 1lbs between the two.

I'll say I do have a taste for Apple products, but I do have a respect for other companies as well. ;)

I hate Apple but can't seem to break up with them permanently. Honestly it's always been about price. I am ready to concede that their ergonomics and thinness really speak to me just b/c it feels so much better in a bag and on the desk, but I could not justify the Apple tax. I was willing to pay more, but not THAT MUCH more. Now the 13" base model macbook pro have completely blown away the apple tax in my mind. I would pay about $250 more for an Apple product b/c that's how much the design is worth to me, but not like $500-$700 more like it was in the past.

I'm in the same boat as you. Been hooked since 17" 1.67GHz powerbook and owned every single 15" mbp and 17" mbp up until now.

Then I jumped on the 1st and 2nd gen macbooks and 1st and 2nd gen Mac Pro desktops.

Now with Snow Leopard and its awesome features, I want to get a mac pro to get the full effect.

Now I'm very close in pulling the trigger on a 17" unibody mbp!

Apple would be the best company in the world if it were not for some major ball busting tendencies they have. First is the little game they play with their fans. Releasing something new (ipone) for a really high price to get all the fans paying more then dropping it $200 for the real sale. And we go through this little game almost every time they release something. And its constanly occuring in macbooks/ipods where they will release a model for 4-8 months, then change some small detail and slightly reduce the price and everyone has to buy another. People know its just a game apple plays to make tons of cash but they buy into it. Then what really pisses me off almost every day is the itouch update. Originally it was $30 for a ing software update? Hello apple? I paid what, $400 for my itouch and now you want to squeeze another $30 for software update? that, and I'm glad I didn't buy it, they dropped it to $10, still ant buying tho. And they dropped the price of the itouch too, I ant buying another ipod for a long time, maybe never again. Damn, other than that they are a great company, great products, just hate the bull games to get every last dime out of you.

I bought the original iPhone, upgraded to 3G (for 3G), and I was contemplating the new iPhone but $500 for the 32GB model and that requires a 2-yr contract and I don't qualify for the subsidized pricing till December?

No thanks. I'll stick with my 3G for awhile.

But what you failed to mention (while you were complaining) is that it's the customer's option to buy from Apple. If Apple is playing games to create revenue then it's up the customer to resist giving Apple money. If the customer so chooses to do so then more power to Apple to squeeze every dime they can from that customer.

honestly speaking, macs are a bit on the expensive side. I wouldn't be able to own a mbp+imac. The hardware peripherals made by apple are soo expensive.
