im scared. i was working in the bed. then i woke up, and it was upside down on the floor.

its about a two and a half foot drop.

    no dents, no scratches. nothing.

    but still that was scary!

did you close the lid? the macbook pro is build pretty solid and the hard disk should be fine if it was turned off. It could have been a lot worse with an open lid.

OK. You didn't drop it. It fell.

Just make sure you have good carpets around your bed to ensure a soft landing.

I have done that sort of thing before, but not with a laptop, that is a dangerous situation for any electronic device, sleepy humans and expensive electronics do not mix.

Drop it again at the same height and confirm the Apple Quality.

    Is that a challenge?

My cousin dropped her Toshiba two feet from the ground; the screen cracked and it won't turn on again.

MagSafe is a great benefit. I know someone who has a MacBook and I would've pulled it off the desk many times if it weren't for MagSafe. I'll walk by and then come back and notice it's unplugged. Definitley a big selling point.

Well, the MagSafe can be useful but...

In your particular case, wouldn't it be better to pay just a bit more attention to where you're stepping? :p
