My macbook has a thick black line that keeps going over everything, and then my Macbook tells me what it says! Like it's now saying "loading notebook review forums..."etc and it won't stop! Also my volume buttons don't work, no they are suddenly Expose and Spaces...!!! What is going on!?

Calm down, calm down. Have you tried a restart of the Mac? That usually solves minor glitches. If that is not fixing it, try repairing Disk Permissions (although I doubt its that), resetting the PRAM, and if that isn't fixing it, take it to an Apple Store!

Yeah I reset it already. Is there some type of program that reads everything for you that I might have turned?

Do the keys do their normal functions without the Fn key?

Like, does the F4 key still bring up Dashboard etc etc.?

Sam...I can't believe you're having trouble with this one. The fix is really simple. Just go to System Prefs>Universal Access, and click OFF on Voice Overs under the Seeing tab, then go to System Prefs>Keyboard & Mouse, and uncheck Use all F1, F2... under the Keyboard tab.

Thanks budding, I turned off Voiceover, and that got rid of the voice, and then also turned off the "highlight" option to get rid of the lines.

I went to system prefs > keyboard and mouse > and then unchecked the use F1 F2 etc keys, and now they work? Weird, but as long as it's working! Thanks :).

You accidentally turned on Voiceover by pressing Apple+F5.
As far as the function keys go, you have two options:

    1) Use them as intended functional keys (remember F1 for help in windows?)
    2) Use them as the graphics on the keys actually explain (brightness, sound, etc)

These options you can tweak in the System Preferences > Keyboard and Mouse

    Cheers! :D
