from my own observations, this is just what I noticed and causes me to think these things have some part in the top secret upgrades.

Looking at various screenshots of leopard all over the net, I noticed that most of all the applications that have recieved updates lost the brushed metal look. From the top of my head one is safari, while yes it did get the dashboard button put in, and another being the finder, these both still have the brushed metal look.

My guess is that just for the sake of allowing the new dashboard features to be shown at WWDC that they just partially updated safari with the dashboard button, so they can fully show the new features of Dashboard, but kept the brushed metal look which makes me think it still has more to it. Now the Finder has been in need of an update for quite some time and it also has yet to lose the look, so it gives me reason to think that its also all part of the top secret features, and when they finally get announced they will lose the brushed metal look as well.

So in a nutshell, anything we see in screenshots that still have brushed metal appearance are all part of the secret features.

Yeah. At the very least, almost everyone assumes that a significant overhaul of the Finder is due (something that has really been called for for quite a while now), and it is especially telling that almost nothing of significance was shown relating to the Finder. The general speculation seems to be that the new Finder is one of the big things that has yet to be seen or released yet.

I heard a similar theory somewhere else and I agree. In fact, I think the look may be one of the things being refreshed.

I actually wouldn't be surprised if the entire Aqua interface got a face lift, and maybe some more features that has to do with the GUI, I mean they have the brand new Core Animation, I would think they would implement it right away.

I'm sure the interface will get a face lift. I agree with your statement ^
