I want to get a macbook pro more than anything but as usual I am forced to turn my attention somewhere else. For some reason I have always had an obsession with macs ever since I was young, whether I was in the school computer lab/library or constantly flipping through macaddict and macworld studying everything in sight. I've had a few in my time like a used powerbook 5300/190/3400 (can't remember for sure which it was, long time ago), original imac, and a powerbook g3 pismo. The last two I still have, both for 8+ years and neither of the two have ever needed repair. But I was always forced to use PC's along side of these macs, mainly because of the compatibility with games. That isn't an issue anymore however I am still in the same situation because of the video card. Once again I cannot ignore the differences between an 8800m gtx and the 8600m gt. That damn alienware m15x is the exact setup that I need, but it's not the computer that I want. Also I am fairly certain a new mbp will come with the release of montevina at some point in June or later on. So those are two reasons why I have to turn away from the mbp, and it bothers me very much to do so. I don't know what I should do

IMO, you should either wait 'til what you need is available in a Mac, or get a new PC which will provide what you require.

Of course, if the means are available, you could buy one of each. :)
