I bought the black macbook in august because I needed it for college. I am totally happy with it, especially after seeing the new ones. I do not like the look at all! Wouldn't mind the nvidia card, but mine is perfect for my light computer gaming needs and everything else. I have a ps3 hooked up to a 42" so I don't need a gaming laptop, right now.

WOOOOOOOOOO. Huge sigh of relief for me.

The most important thing is that you're happy, which you are.

I'm quite interested in the polarization these new Mac notebooks have caused, some hate it to death, others love it :p. Of course, that's perfectly fine, but most of the time products from Apple have been met with general satisfaction, unlike this time when its very 50-50.

But glad you're happy you made the right choice!

I like the new designs better, but I am having a lot of trouble deciding between the macbook and the mbp now.

Yeah, I thought I would have regretted it, with apple releasing new ones sooner. The new ones don't look really MacBook-y if you know what I mean.

I thought I would regret getting it sooner, with apple releasing new ones a few months after I got it. Out of curiosity, I did a price comparison of the old and new ones with the exact same specs and it wasn't that different. The new ones just don't look macbook-y if you know what I mean.

I went with the MB as I do at most light gaming, probably might try games that are graphic demanding sometimes at low resolutions, and I find the pricing of the new mid-range MB to be most resonable (besides the issue of not having the backlit keyboard). I love glossy screen and matte screen, so it didn't matter but watching movies and playing games on glossy screens are more enjoyable for me. In my opinion, the 1599$ macbook is a bit overpriced as I am not paying 250-300$ more for the backlit, faster processor, and larger HD.

Nice, you got one of the last blackbooks out there. I dont think apple is making them anymore (are they?), but Im sure at somepoint itll become somewhat of a collectors item ;p

As far as the design goes, it's been a big disappointment for me. They seriously do look like HP Pavilions now.

The White Macbook is simply graceful in comparison. The previous iBook was also quite elegant. *For their time*, the multicolored first iBooks were kind of 'interesting', but not quite 'my cup of tea'.......but anyhow, it looks like Jonathan Ive is past his prime by now. He keeps adding tapered edges to everything.

(by the way, there have been mentions of an 'nvidia *card*' in the machine--that's still an *integrated* graphics adapter with memory sharing, and not a dedicated chip.)
