Hi guys, I'm sort of in a problem here.
I use both OSX and windows everyday (Work/Home). I have a 8GB USB to move important files and documents.

Recently I accidentally formatted my USB to NTFS in windows.
Now, when I plug my 8GB USB into OSX, it can read, but I CANNOT alter the contents, or move any files into the USB while in OSX.

Is my USB doomed to be a "Windows Only" USB or can I get OSX to write on it ever again?

    Thank you in advanced!

Just open up Disk Utility and reformat.

Reformat it to HFS+ format with Disk Utility. You can also enable NTFS writing with NTFS-3G for those disk you must share with Windows.

You can always reformat though if needed.

Don't reformat, just download and install NTFS-3G. This makes your mac NTFS capable.

If you will be transferring large files, Paragon NTFS would be better, it is not freeware but it is a lot faster.

not by default, it can't.. something else you've installed has given you the ability... it might have been installed with something else you installed and didn't tell you.

mr__bean, doh123 is right. OS X does not support writing to NTFS file systems by default.
