    It seems very cool and very fast, and I like the mac os.

    I'm only worried about the graphics card as I can't really play any games on it, but I'm going to college, so I'm trying to value over homework over playing games.

    It's a hard decision.

    ---and can you run mac os on vista?

    Mac OS X is very difficult to get running on a non-Apple computer.

    That being said, get the Gateway. Specs are too good to pass up. If you need portability, buy an Asus Eee afterwards.

    No, you can only run Mac OS X on a Mac, no virtualizations are permitted.

    Anyway, the integrated graphics is not too bad. It'll play some older games, and yeah, college, work over gaming :cool: :p.

    that's what i'm trying to value anyways. I feel like gaming wont help me right now but it is nice to play once and awhile.

    The MacBook is a great laptop, I've got one and it has a high quality feel to it, and offers amazing performance. Plus how else will you get OS X legally?
    The only problem with the MacBook is integrated graphics, it does the job but lacks at a lot of graphic intensive tasks.

    Gaming= get emulators. Seriously.
    Anyway, Macbooks are great; and you can run Vista or XP on a mac, and while it is possible to run OS X on a non-apple machine, it is illegal.

    WOW 1449? Thats amazing. I had one of those but returned it for this, and I can tell you there is no noticable performance gain! The big reason I swapped was for the 256mb 8600

    FYI the current models still use the Santa Rosa platform, just a different processor. They went from Morem to Penryn I believe.

    I wouldn't even be surprised if some of these refurbished units were actually brand new, seeing as they wouldn't be able to sell the old models for full price right now anyway. Even if they're not, Apples refurbished units "feel" brand new anyway.

    Is there an emulator that allows you to run games that were made for OS 9 without crashing?
