So the 650m inside my rMBP is struggling with pretty much everything these days. Not to mention I woudnt even think on playing games such as Battlefield 4 or Rome 2: TW. I have been thinking on a couple of ways to solve this and would appreciate any recommendations/feedback.

    1) Egpu - I have been looking at this for a while, and it seems quite an attractive option. But it seems that they are a pain in the to bootcamp them, and also I dont have Thinderbolt 2, which im not sure how much of a problem can that be

    2) Steam In-Home streaming - I used to build my own Pc´s before having to buy a MAC becuase of work/traveling, and I woudnt mind making my own "steam machine". The problem is that to make this work I would need an extra monitor to pretty much make this happen and thats kills quite alot of portability

    3) Connect a PC to my rMPR via hardware - Would be like In-Home straming, but via hardware. Is this possible. Have not found much about it.

    4) Buy a new laptop - With the 9xxm out in the market, and with "mature looking" gaming laptops such as the Razor Blade, this can be an option, but my least favourite one. I truly enjoy the trackpad in my MAC

Won't work because your Mac has a discreet GPU already. These setups only work on machines with integrated graphics.

Probably your best option if gaming is an important consideration.

1: as Saturn said wont work well if at all since you already have a dGPU

2: it works to a point, but tends to be buggy in OSX and really stresses your CPU and GPU, so you wind up with a hot laptop and a sub par experience

3: no good way of doing a hardware KVM through your MBP for gaming, unless you are a big fan of side scrolling games and lots of lag. some of the guys in the gaming forum have tried and there is about a 0.5 second lag behind it seems.

4: best option in my opinion.

Mobius, that's funny and im ripping off that meme as I am sitting here doing video processing for a client and using an rMBP as a mouse pad of all things.

Oh come on... have your hubby snap a pic and you can glam it up a bit if you like.
I think flannel PJ's are perfect!
(assuming they are real PJs and not the ones sold in the adult shops, in which case they are even better, but probably not appropriate)

Sell the Macbook Right away, you gotta get rid of it. I switched to a GT 750m and the difference was night and day in terms of graphics and gaming, I couldn't believe the difference. The 750m is a lot better, I just gave my old Macbook to my mom to use and she loves it.
