So my battery dies rather quickly when I am doing simple stuff like listening to music and surfing the web and I was wondering if there was a way to somehow prove it to a mac guy for a new battery. I dont wanna go in there and look like an idiot. Thanks.

Well, could you put up a time and what cell battery you have?? That would be helpful.
Also, if you are listening to your music loudly obviously your batt. life will be a lot lower than if you were just surfing...
But if your battery life is truly bad, then I think by just going in with the laptop and battery that they would be able to help you out. -
Iam not sure the cell.. I have the new black macbook.. whatever is standard with that.

install the iStat pro widget and report back with your battery health and the # of cycles you have put the battery through

7 Cycles. 100% Health. It just feels like the battery dies very quickly I went from 77% to 41% in an hour listening to music and using firefox.

They don't last for ever... 36% in 1 hour doesn't seem that bad. What brightness do you have your screen set for? Are you using wifi? Bluetooth? Mouse? That will also drain the battery more.

yea, make sure your blue tooth is turned off. When i bought my mbp new, my bluetooth was turned on automatically.

Yeah that % drop seems completely normal, especially if you are listening to music at a decent volume...

There are a number of things that drain the battery like mentioned before, Bluetooth, Airport on, brightness, speaker volume.
Try the following:
Charge your battery to 100%, turn off Bluetooth, set the brightness to the first tick, just above dark screen, set volume to half, remove mag-safe, start iTunes, start playing a playlist, start timer.
See what you get.
How to tell if you got a faulty battery?
