First, if this answer is already on here somewhere, forgive me. The search threads function isn't enabled at the moment.

When I download mp3's from the net, Itunes automatically opens up every time a song is downloaded and starts playing that song. Pretty damn annoying when I'm trying to download songs and browse the web at the same time. The Itunes window will pop up to the top of the "stack" when each song has completed downloading, interrupting my work.

I looked through itunes preferences and nothing jumped out at me to change this. Although I'm a new Mac user, so that's why I'm asking the experts here. Can anyone help?

    Thanks!

It's got nothing to do with your iTunes, but rather more to do with your browser, if mp3s you download from your web browser is automatically launching iTunes. Are you using Safari? If so, then make sure you uncheck the Open Safe Files After Downloading box in Safari>Preferences>General.

Thanks for the help. I appreciate it. I was using Safari and that worked.

    Thanks again!
