How might I go about reinstalling Mac OS and delete the current install I have on here?

You have the Mac OS X Install Disc 1 and 2, correct? Just open up your Mac, insert Install Disc 1 and follow the instructions that show there. You can choose to install OS X over the current one, as in "upgrading", or you can choose to erase the original installation and to install OS X from scratch.
Here's the direct instructions from Apple's Mac Help in OS X.

Curious, with windows a lot of time you need to install drivers for peripherals.. I'm guessing since mac's are pretty much there own hardware, besides driver updates from the mac site everything will be 100% working after reinstall? I'm going to do this once mine arrives and I pass my current macbook to the wife
