System Prefs>Accounts>Login Items. Then click the + arrow and select Adium from the window that pops up. Check the Hide box if you don't want the contacts list to pop up every time you start up your machine.

Budding answered it very well, but I'll just chime in with another method that may be simpler for you.

If you have Adium in the Dock, just right click it, and select "Open at Login", and it will automatically open when you log in. If you right click again, you will notice the "Open at Login" will have a checkmark beside it indicating that it will open at login. If you decide you don't want to do this anymore, just click it again. This works with any application. Enjoy :).

You mean, as in, Mail isn't on your Dock, bmms8? Well, you can just drag it to the Dock temporarily, or when Mail opens up, it automatically shows up on your Dock anyways. Just right click its Dock icon, and uncheck "Open at Login".

Does Mail pop up with an additional window asking for your input?
