Ok I put up my MBP for sale a few days ago but have decided NOT to sell it. I just can't let go of the thing because no other laptops out there even compare in terms of the styling and build quality. I was set on buying the Sony FW, but I just can't let go of the mac.

Anyways, in anticipation of selling it I did a fresh install of Leopard. I have two partitions, one for the mac and one for windows. I attempted to reunite the two, in order to make one big Mac partition, but was unsuccessful.

Now, I try to run Bootcamp Assistant but it says I need to update my software. The problem is, I did all the updates already and software update says my system is up to date.

So I have no idea how to get Bootcamp running. I'd prefer it if I could get rid of the second partition and just have all the space for Mac OS.

    Very frustrating stuff...

I had the same situation but I sold my MBP. Although I forgot the steps in restoring the space but its done inside the Disk management on Mac side, try moving the slider or restoring it to remove the windows partition. Hope it helps since I did it in a hurry on the day I sold it. :(

I also had the updating problem when i tried to run bootcamp assistant a few months ago (Though i had updated everything i can on Leopard 10.5.3). But when apple released 10.5.4, the problem disappeared.

    first try this:

run boot camp manager. restore to single partition.

    if that fails:

insert leopard disc, run disk utility off of the disc (not the leopard install program), restore your hdd to 1 partition, then install leopard on that partition

that brute force method will get the job done no matter what crazy partition things you have done.

You can run disk utility within OSX, and delete and resize your OSX partition. Should be able to do it all while still running leopard if i remember correctly
