Im trying to tether my blackberry with my MBP and its asking me for an admin name and password. I thought it was my login password but it didnt work. I googled it and everyone said to put in the OSX disc but theres no option on it to reset the name and password without having to reinstall OSX.

I could be wrong but im 99% certain i was never asked to set an admin name and p/w when I reinstalled OSX on my new HD.

I believe the admin name should your default master login account, and the PW is the password for that (the same one you have to enter when OS X asks you to confirm software or OS updates).

Don't have a BB, however, so can't be more certain for you. Perhaps others here can cover that ...

During the setup you are asked to enter a admin pw whether or not you add one to your user account. To reset you boot off of the DVD that came with it, there should be an option so you can reset the admin. You can also go to System/accounts and see if you can reset your user account.

Remember User Name and PW are case sensitive.
