When i click on the folder in my dock it opens as stack or as a grid, can't i just have it open as the finder? cause stacks is cool and etc, but when you have over 10 files its kind of useless...

so is there a way to put a shortcut on the dock and have it open as if i was opening in the finder?

Hold the command key then click on the folder. The folder contents will open in a Finder window.

I believe there are settings where you right click on the folder that you want to change and there should be a choice between fan, grid, and something else. If that doesn't work then try system prefernces and there should defiantly be a choice in there to use finder as your option. Hope that helps!

but this doesnt open the folder itself, it opens the folder which contains the folder i selected..
plus, it kind of sucks having to press command, but thanks for the tip

and right-clicking does not give me an option to select it to open it in the finder, ive looked in the system preferences and i couldnt find anything either

just control+click or right click on the item in your dock and set it to open as a folder.

Dunno, it works for me. If I drag the Apps folder to the dock and I Cmd + click on it the App folder opens in the Finder.

I think you can make an alias(like a shortcut in windows, rightclick>make alias) of the folder, then add it to the dock.

Should open on a single click then iirc.

oh I see what you were saying, sorry about that. what I usually do is have my commonly used folders, such as my Projects folder, as a menu style folder on the dock, and then all the specific projects I am working on at the time, Aliased on the dock. I never really keep anything on my Desktop that isn't very temporary.

you can also Cmd+Opt+Drag a folder somewhere to make a quick alias of it as an interesting side note.

    what does Opt mean?

but thats what i meant, have a link of the folder in the dock, not on the desktop
