I have an iBook 12" with Mac OS X.

When I connect my PC monitor to the notebook, the screen on the laptop still stay on.

Is there a way to turn off the laptop screen when it is connected to the monitor?

you can try the displays option under system preferences, or at the very leaset, just keep turning the brightness down until the backlight turns off.
