I'm honestly not looking to sell, I'm just wondering how much my macbook has either decreased or increased it's value. I have an Intel Core Duo 2.0ghz black macbook with now 2gb 667mhz ram and 80 gig hdd. What's your estimate.
-
I don't have an estimate, but I can tell you computers never increase in value, so don't get your hopes up for that.
Computers do nothing but decrease in value. -
computers will never increase in value

I heard somewhere on this forum Apple notebooks have the best residual value. True or false?
-
Maybe not BEST but Apple notebooks certainly have a GOOD resale value.
I'd buy your BlackBook for $1300. -
Check on Ebay and Craigslist.

See what the refurbs on Apple's site for that model are going for and subtract maybe about $100 or so. Apple's have good resale value though.

I actually saw a few MBPs specced exatly like mine going for slightly more than what I paid. It's definitely the education discount of $200 that's making it that way for me. The gain I would get by selling this would only be like 50 or so bucks, which just isn't worth it.
From what I saw when I was still looking to buy, used macbooks tend to be around 15% less than their new counterparts. MBPs are between 8% and 15% less than new depending on usage/spec. I may be off by a bit, and that may have changed in the last month or so, but that's a generalization of what I saw. -

Does apple have a trade in program? That, they have a list of laptops, and have a set value for it?
Cause, I know the Sony Vaios do. -
