Just taking a survey. If you have had problems just list them below along with the solution. Thanks.

As for my answer to that question:

I am running windows vista 32 on the new macbook pro unibody.
It works horrible. Constantly freezing and with tons of audio distortion.
Many MacBook Pro unibody users are having this problem with Vista.
There is no fix at the current moment. Although some have reported
success with different video drivers and using a program known as
"Anti-Lag" to fix the audio distortion issue. I have had no luck with
    these fixes.

I had Vista Business 32-bit installed on my iMac and it was flawless. No problems with install, and no problems with drivers or performance afterwards. I did have to figure out how to get my number pad working on my external Logitech keyboard, but that was the only hiccup.

Apart from audio and trackpad issues, Vista and XP run really well on my macbook pro (penryn, early 2008).
I gave up on fixing the audio issues and got myself a usb sound card (Creative xmod). This ended up being a really good investment though because the audio is phenomenal now!

Audio has been my only real gripe about my mac though. If almost every cheapo Toshiba laptop can have a dedicated sound chip, why must we make do with crappy integrated ones???

Also, you should add Windows 7 to your survey. Installed it this morning and it's running very well...

I am running XP Professional 32-bit, and it couldn't be any better. I have had no complaints with the trackpad, or anything for that matter. Apple did a good job on Boot Camp in my eyes, and it really adds to the value to me.

My experience with XP Pro on my daughter's MB is the same as Charger's - no problems at all. I really liked the two-finger right click on the trackpad when using XP. Ditto his comments on Bootcamp - Apple did their homework and it runs very well. The only thing I will do different on mine, when I get it, is to format the XP partition NTFS instead of FAT. I think, but I am not sure, that will isolate the partitions from one another and protect one OS should I get a virus. I am trying to scrare up $1229 to give Amazon some more business and order one for myself!!

For those who said the system ran horribly, how much RAM do you have?

Interesting to see that 100% of Windows XP users are doing great while Vista on the other hand....

Oh my god Apple still has not solved this problem yet !?

I bought a late 08 MBP and Vista just kept locking up so I returned it, and the people at apple store are idiots.

I have the 2007 summer edition of the MBP and boot camp with vista 32 bit. I'm slightly disappointed in apple, where they should have included the 'tap-to-click' ability on the trackpad. other than that, I'm happy with it's performance with Vista and medium level of gaming ability.

edit: now if Apple can whip up an update for boot camp to recognize windows 7 as a supported hardware, i'd be really happy.

Wow, I'm glad I got XP then.
I run XP Home SP3 and it runs wonderfully. No issues whatsoever. The only thing I noticed is, and I think it's a bootcamp issue; some times when I boot into XP, it just sits at the grey screen for a long time, then finally hands off to windows, and windows loads. It just happens occasionally though, still kind of strange.

I'm running XP on boot camp. No problems really apart from the fact that it runs the battery down much faster than OS X.

Got 2 gigs of RAM on a late 2008 Macbook.

    4gb ram, running vista 32-bit.
random freezes while browsing websites, apart from that, it runs great, games run like a charm, but it does run warm..

but after the fans kick in during the games, temp average around 70

Well I just installed windows XP. The sound distortion is a nice amount better with only skips/slow downs once and a while. I have blue screened once oddly though.... but definitely much better than windows vista...
