    How do you get the remote Free app to work?

    Just like the title.

    I can't get the Free remote app to work on my ipod touch updated to teh 2.0 software and using itune 7.7.

    I also had problems at first. But its actually really simple.
    1) start the remote app on the iphone/ipod
    2) in itunes look on the left just above playlists, there should be a devices section that appears. Select the ipod
    3) in the main window of itunes enter the 4 digit code listed on the iphone screen.
    4) enjoy.
    Nb: you need to be on the same wifi network.
    also a reboot of iTunes may be need first time round

    Well I am on the same network, but my Ipod doesn't show up in the devices.

    Just my luck lol.
    I have made sure I have selected in the Preferences advanced tab as well.

    Maybe they have something done here at my work network.

    Do you have "Look for iPhone & iPod Touch remotes" enabled?

    EDIT: Oh you do. Have you tried doing it on a different network?
    Cmd+Shift+4 is so wonderful.
