    Hello,

Sorry that my first post is a help me post but I'm having a little issue trying to hook up a monitor to my MacBook Pro.

I've hooked up a Dell flat screen computer monitor to my MacBook Pro using a DVI connector cable. The monitor shows the leopard default background but that's it. What's on my MacBook Pro isn't on the Dell monitor.

All I did was hook up the monitor to the MacBook Pro. Did I miss some steps?

OS X v. 10.5.1 running leopard. Intel processor.

    Thanks,

    Alan

go to system preferences then click on "displays". You can set it up so that you have the same image on both displays or you can have one large, continuous display. The dock will show up on the display that you drag the little bar to. Play around with it and you'll understand it :)

Another way is to hold in the Fn key and press F7.

Perfect, that worked like a charm. Thank you both. I'm new to the mac but I'm slowly learning. :)
