    High process count?

    i used to have 44 processes at boot but now its at 49 - 51, i have not changed anything or installed anything new? any ideas its been the same for the past 3 days or so and ive tried restarting

    MSMessenger tends to be a culpert, always fishing for MS tagged items. Using any MS product is like having Bill Gates going through your underwear drawer, you don't want him there but he insists on looking. There were a few Windows tweaks the other day so nothing to worry.

    Unles you notice that they're taking a god amount of ram or cpu I wouldn't worry too much about it. My macbook pro currently has 62 processes. This includes msn, entourage, firefox and a couple of other bits. I still have 1GB ram free out of 2GB, so I don't see that as an issue. Hope that helps.

    Thankyou. the process count has dropped since, I am thinking maybe it had somthing to do with spotlight indexing or somthing?
