Hi  I have just bought my first macbook with penryn.
    Spec: T8100/4GB/120GB/X3100...etc

I have read lots of threads in this box, but i still have some troubles. Here they are:

    1. In the attached picture: Please look at the small bar with "abc", i really don't know what it is, but it prevents me from typing the password into the form above. What can i do, is there any way to disable it ?
    2. I noticed that Leopard has some kind of auto complete word (just like iphone), but the problem is i have to press Enter twice all the time after typing web adress, chat text...etc. How can i solve this ?
Thank you for reading and please help me....

For #2 try using tab instead of Enter.

Thank you all very much :)

I clicked the small red circle to close it, but then whenever i type some text in to the password box, it returns again. It's quite annoying :(

To Stunner: Is there anyway to disable it totally ? It adds space after each word that i typed T_T

Uhh, I do not own a mac, so I would not know, I bet someone else will be able to help you with your question soon. I am pretty sure you can disable it in system preferences or something like that...

Well, for the "autocomplete", I'm not sure at the moment how to turn it off across the board, but in Safari, under Preferences > Autofill you can turn some parts off.

It appears the abc box may be part of entourage. I don't use entourage myself, but if it's like the other office applications, I suspect it can be disabled by clicking on view-->uncheck any option that refers to a palette (ie. "formatting palette, etc.") If the autocomplete really bugs you, then you could try using firefox instead of safari.

Thank you all very much, i think it's part of input source. I'm not using US standard typing style. I will try to get familiar with it.
One more thing, i have read alot of thread and many people said that if we format the factory-installed Mac OS X then reinstall it, we could save about 10GB of disk space. Are there any side effects or benefits ? Will this trick make macbook faster ? Should i do it ?

If you do a custom reinstall you can remove the languages and printer drivers that you don't need. This can save at least 7GB of disk space. I'm not sure if it'll really make things any faster, but there aren't any side effects and you'll free up some space. You can always download printer drivers if you get a new printer or need to use a different one anyways.
