Hello everyone i need help on which mac to buy, im looking at their site and im seeing that they only have macs with intel processors, know one of my questions is: is that configuration good for a mac? i remember that they had this G3 G4 processors , are those obsolete? does that intel processors works good with the mac os x ? i just can see that they only have with windows OS and i read that its the same if i just buy a regular computer if i buy a mac with windows OS and i dont want that. My sister needs it to use the latest autocad and edit movies, and some ocasional gaming. Can someone help me out, and she likes the 13 inches screen so it doesnt matter how big she just wants to run those apps with no trouble.

You can run a virtual machine with Windows as the Guest OS.

See the sticky thread in this section about running Windows on a Mac.

Also, the processors in the current gen of the Macbooks will have no trouble running the programs you require.

    I'd suggest a Macbook Pro.

AutoCad's last Mac release was in mid 90s, but they're releasing a new one in the coming years.

However, you should have no problem running AutoCad under parallels desktop.

If you need a 3D editing program, Maya is fully Mac-friendly.

And yes, there's MSOffice for Mac, and is fuly compatible. You might rarely get some strange artefacts when you convert version to version, but this is true for all versions, not just Macs

Is there a particular reason you are looking at a Mac instead of a Windows PC? If she needs the latest auto CAD she may be better off with a PC. There are work arounds if she insists on a Mac though. I suggest posting in the "what notebook should I buy" section to get a full range of choices.
