Guys, I need a bit of help to reformat my sisters Air... She is now visiting me and all the disks are in US. Computer is really working fine but she desperately wants to reformat it... Anyway, can I use disks that came with other mac to reformat it or it should be specifically Air's disks?

I believe that its not possible to use a different models restore disks. I tried this once with different white mbs and it was a no go. Your only option is a retail version of OSX, or restore disks from a similar model Air.

I believe if the disk set you have came with a machine that was released AFTER the MacBook Air was introduced they may work. OS X install disks that predate the Air will most certainly not work.

Using a utility called Pacifist, apparently you can use machine-specific disks for a different machine on the macbook air. I've only read about it—no first-hand experience.

I suggested this elsewhere, but using the new snow leopard disk may be a way to go. Apparently the $29 snow leopard disk is more than a simple upgrade. It's fully bootable and you could reinstall.
