My apple iMac just keeps loading during start-up before I can sign in, there's no response whatever key I press, does anyone know what problem is?

    Thanks!

Do you get to the Apple? Is there a flashing folder? If you are seeing the Apple you should be able to boot to the Tiger CD. Just hold down the option key when you hear the startup sound.

All I can see is an Apple logo and a progress indicator, which looks like a colored pinwheel or spinning disc. I can't start up in safe mode, and I have tried Disk Utility too...
