not sure where to post this but here goes-
I just purchased an Ipod Video off a friend and Its been plugged into the USB for 4 hours now. It was finally recognized by iTunes and I did the clean install etc and now the ipod wont come off the Apple logo screen. It occasionally goes back to the low batt but its been charging for several hours now. I unplug it and it just shuts off. I don't know what to do. Ive tried resetting but it just crashes

did you tried a power adapter rather than usb? if you are sure that there is no problem with the battery then the problem is with the usb charging, plug it to a power outlet and it should be fine

Tried buying a new one yet? It not exactly Apple fault that you bought one with a trashed battery.

    But this one was second-hand.

Is it still within the one-year warranty? If so, take it to an Apple Store or authorized service provider - the battery is covered for the first year.

Hard drive could also be dead. Sounds like your friend sold you a bum ipod.
