My Wireless Mighty Mouse will not work!
It's been flawless for about 3 months but it just so happens that I turn my computer on and it doesn't work!
The bluetooth icon on the top of screen (next to time, internet, etc.) says disconnected and "bluetooth not available" .....

    what's wrong here.

    thx
    scott

Haha, Scott. Wanna explain the issue and how you fixed it, so others can benefit in the future? :)

I swear, I've nearly clicked "Edit Post" instead of "Quote Post" at least 10 times today :p.

Anyways, that's an unfortunate misconception of Apple's marketing...Macs do crash, Macs don't "just work" all the time; I'll say its less prone to crashes and more likely to "just work" than Windows is most of the time though :p. But yes, they don't always "just work" and its not true that Macs don't crash. They do, just not as often :).

    Heehee.

I remember doing that when I was modded at another board.

    =)

Yeap. Apple's just good at selling their products.

I've had similar issues a number of times, when my bluetooth icon would say Disconnected or Bluetooth not available. The way I fix it is by putting my Mac to sleep and then waking it up again, or restarting it. I wonder if Chant did the same.

I find XP and OSX to be very stable. The OS rarely crashes, the apps moreso. Even Vista, which is flakier than XP/OSX is pretty stable.

I've used Windows 95, 98 and Mac OS 7, 8 and 9. These would crash hard every few hours, so to me, these newer operating systems are ROCK solid.

sorry it took so long for me to respond -
All i did was restart again and it worked fine. It was kind of a weird problem though.

Also another problem I've had with leopard thus far is that sometimes my computer freezes up but im still able to use the program that is open.
EXAMPLE: I'll be on iChat, Safari, and Mail and ill expose to my iChat window. All of a sudden the entire computer FREEZES where I can't click any buttons (anywhere on the screen whether it be on my desktop, dock, already open windows) however I'm still able to type/send/recieve messages on iChat. A combination of laziness and indepth of conversation with whomever it was on iChat allowed me to be content with not restarting my computer. After about 20 minutes (yes i put up with it for 20 minutes) of just iChatting, everything seemed to unfreeze accordingly, however it was quite odd........
By the way, this problem has occurred more then once since leopard installation. Usually i'll just force-restart and all is well.
