Hi, so I'm thinking about about bring my macbook pro into a repair shop. I was wondering can they fix my backlit light and how much would it cost? Because I spilt some pop on my computer and now my backlit light won't light up evenly. Like dose anyone know a ball-park figure? Any help would be appreciated. (This repair shop specialize in Macs)

Your thread title really needs to say more than just, "Help". Please be more informative next time? What exactly is wrong with your backlight? Are you talking about the screen or the keyboard? I apologize but I am a bit puzzled as to why you want the forum to give you an estimated repair price if you are taking it to the repair shop? They will tell you how much.

If its under warranty, they might fix it for free. if your saying you spilled sodapop on it, then you will probably need Accidental Damage Protection.

If no accidental Dagame Protection, try calling if in regular warratly, do and dont mention that you spilled anything (on 2 diff. calls and see which works), and see what they will do. ;) If no go, usually a screen replacement is ~~$400

i don't think there's any accidental damage protection...its only apple care which you can use only if your lapotps breaks down by itself...so you'll need to shell out a lot of money to get your macbook pro repaired

You spilled liquid on your computer, which was your own fault. Unfortunately, you'll have to just be honest and likely have to pay up (probably upwards of $400). My rule: keep all liquids at least 5 feet away from the computer at all times.

Or just be smart when you have foodstuffs near or around your computer. I have a desk that has a roll-out space for a keyboard. When I am eating in front of the computer I place all foodstuffs on that keyboard holder with my laptop on the actual desk. That way if anything topples or spills it falls to the ground rather than on or near my laptop.

Or how about not eating at all. I'm slightly OCD about greasy fingerprints on my keyboards and monitors and other peripherals.

I used to be that way, but grew out of it, especially with my current computer... it has been through a lot so I don't really baby it too much anymore. Also, being a college student, your computer is where you go for recreation so instead of eating and watching TV like most do, I tend to eat and watch something on my computer, works nicely.
