Wow the "superior build quality" from apple this days is top notch!Last edited by a moderator: Jun 30, 2019Vasudev likes this. -
What exactly are they doing to fix this? Seems to me people should be getting new machines instead since this has been around since 2015 apparently.

Just think what you could probably buy a quality/reliable ThinkPad with probably the best keyboard in the industry for less than what it would cost buying an Apple laptop. If I was ever considering dropping $1200+ on a laptop I would look at the ThinkPad X1's or the ThinkPad E or T series before buying a laptop from Apple where keyboards have been an issue for several years now. And unlike Apple, Lenovo doesn't solder their SSD to the motherboard. They typically use standard M2 storage cards.

I am a Dell lover, The xps lineup mops the floor with macbooks too. The inspiron 7000 lineup is better than the air as well.

I always chuckle when I see blanket statements like those above, they are rarely helpful (or accurate)...
Even after all of my modifications, my XPS would get spanked by something with good cooling. Not to mention something without the early throttling of the GPU and power limits on the CPU.
The new MBP seems to better handle temps than those before, at least from the initial youtube videos I watched on it. Probably just a better undervolt applied via firmware though.Vasudev likes this. -

I'm bowing out now. I will not spinal down the rabbit hole. The freaking xps is faster than the mbp at similar tempts. No matter what those tempts are. Apples to apples. I'm not comparing a macbook at 20 to an xps at 100. Seriously.
Heads up mbp owners. Recall announced.
