I have an old version of Macbook Pro 15" and the battery is dead, won't charge (this is the 2nd battery that I used for that laptop) and CD/DVD ROM is all jacked up. I was wondering if by any chance that I can turn this old PoS in and get a newer laptop with a reasonable price or if anyone know is there a place where I can turn it in for a small amount of cash back?

Why not sell it on eBay, Craigslist or the like? You can search the completed auctions on eBay to get an approximation of its value.

You will be surprised. It's not that hard (or expensive) to fix it if all else works and looks good...
