    Hi

I am looking to upgrade my macbook hdd to 320GB. However, I need to find a 2.5" external enclosure which will take a 320GB hard drive. I am looking at icy box 2.5" enclosures, however will they take a 320GB HDD.

I am seen that some enclosures have a limit of about 200GB?

    I eagerly await your reply!

I think any current enclosure should be OK with 320GB. I expect the chip inside is the same as for the desktop HDD enclosures, which now go up to 1TB. You will need an enclosure with an SATA interface.

I have an oldish PATA 2.5" enclosure which can only see up to 140GB.

If you want faster performance, consider an enclosure with an eSATA port and get an eSATA controller card (available for ExpressCard, not sure about PCMCIA). This will give the same speed as if the HDD is internal. I have an enclosure which has both USB 2 and eSATA. It works OK with 250GB but is a size bigger than normal enclosures. I've also got an Icybox which looks like this.

Macbooks dont have expresscard or any of that stuff.
OP- any should work, but I'm not positive.
