I just got my MacBook Pro 2.4 ghz. I have been looking at the "show your desktop" thread and was wondering about all of those icons on the top bar. Where do they come from? What are some of the great programs that a Mac owner can't live without.

There are several threads around that have lists on software that most Mac users should have. Check out the Mac Switcher's Guide, it has information on that! :) Its a sticky on this forum and I have a link in my sig!

The one I use to control iTunes is called ByteController. It's free and works quite well.

As Sam said, check the mac switchers guide.

I have a list of equivalent programs for OS X in my sig. There's also Eluzions list of freeware.
