Well, I just (finally) got my Macbook Pro (see sig for specs) :)

I installed Windows through Boot Camp on it last night, everything seems to work fine. Now my question becomes: should I download some other drivers (other than the ones supplied by Apple in Boot Camp, that is) or should I stick to the ones they supplied? I am just afraid of somehow screwing it up and having to reinstall everything again.

I am only going to use Windows for games, anything else I do in Mac OS X.

Now, keep in mind that I am not one who cares about performance that much, and most games I play are not FPS ones anyway. So if the performance gain from other drivers is 10% or something, I'm not too bothered. I just want to know if there are any other advantages or really big performance boosts (without overclocking or changing clock rate in any way) to changing drivers.

    Any thoughts?

You should really use the drivers provided, there has been known differences in the flash-ROM of video cards for Macs. AFAIK utilities for overclocking are available in Windows even with Apple drivers. I'd say that someone who knows enough to hack their own drivers could perhaps create a custom version. OTOH, perhaps for the particular case of MBP the card is exactly the same, who knows.

Then, if you really wish to try, you'd better try it now before you have put too much work on customizing Windows.

    The answer is YES.

Download the Omega Drivers for Windows XP. They improve performance over the old drivers and are completely compatible from my experiences.

DO NOT OVERCLOCK. Your warranty will be void and you increase the risk of overheating your computer. The performance increases from overclocking are NOT worth the risk in a laptop computer where all components are crammed together.
