I just bought a MBP. Absolutely love it but it seems I am having M1530 flashbacks.... The screen seems to be really grainy, I'm not sure if this is an issue with the MBP, my old Blackbook had a fantastic screen. Just curious if it is due to the LED backlighting. Anybody have any advice or similar problems?
    Specs are in sig...
    The screen is glossy BTW.

    Cheers

Something is definitely wrong. My first MBP(matte) had the best screen I've ever seen on a notebook but then it got replaced because of a display latch problem with a terrible grainy screen(also matte). It's now been fixed and is back to how it should be.

You should contact Apple about this.

i think that's something that is fixable with bios or driver update. i had similar problem with the Asus W3J but it was fixed after applying another bios/driver.

That is a good call, unlike the Dells it seems to be a little easier to get Apples fixed.

Now i wonder if they will fix the Chip in my screen....hit it accidentally with a USB plug on a mouse.

MBP, like most manufacturers, actually uses more than one part for their screen. Also like many manufacturers they use both LG and Samsung.. the Samsung tends to have yellow banding issues and this sparkle you talk about. It would be interesting to find out which screen you have.

There is A LOT of talk about this in the official Apple forums, if you want to check it out.
