    Got a free battery replacement

    I have about 390 cycles on my battery in my 2008 MBP and the health is at 20%, lasting about 20 minutes on a full charge. Before I bought a new battery I thought I'd call Apple and just see what would happen. I explained to them my situation in a nice friendly manner and the person agreed to send me a brand new battery free of charge.

    I was surprised and wasn't expecting this outcome. I was expecting to just purchase a new one after being turned down for a replacement.

    I don't have extended Apple care, my warrantee is expired...

    Not sure how that happened but thought I'd share. I guess the point is before you buy a new part call before and ask...it never hurts!

    Very nice indeed. One of the things I like about Apple is their support. Got a replacement iPod Touch because there was dust under the screen.

    My friends 3 year old Air's hinge broke, while trying to fix it he made it worse, he did not buy Apple care, and he took it in a few weeks ago and they gave him a new screen and frame.
