I used to use Grabit newsreader in my Vista years. I far prefer paying a few bucks to access a newsgroup than to sift through tons of irrelevant data on frostwire, etc.
Anywho, I'm having a tough time finding a Grabit equivalent for OS X in one key respect: search function. With Grabit, I could pay $1.99 for one month's worth of unlimited search, which made it unnecessary to download the headers of an entire group to find what I wanted.
Are there any OS X newsreaders that have similar functions??
What newsreader is generally recommended?
Thanks!

I use newzbin.com for .nzb files and usenet index searching followed by Unison as my mac newsreader program. In general, you can get everything done that you need to within Mac but they really don't have anything to compare with some of the more powerful and feature rich usenet newsreader programs. For instance, I was using newsleecher in Windows and Unison simply can't touch newsleecher but it works fine and I can still get everything I need fairly easily.

Here's the link for Unison. Check it out, you might like it. It might be exactly what you're looking for.

I really like NZB Drop http://www.asar.com/nzbdrop.html
But since you like to search the newsgroups, this isn't a good choice for you.
Especially since it's for downloading files from the NZB extension without the mess of a full newsgroup reader client. GrabIt is also my favorite in Windows..
Edit: Seems "Hogwasher" is their full featured newsgroup reader.. which looks every bit of nice as their NZB Drop.
Goodbye Grabit! Helloooo....???? Help!
