    why not the new i5/7 with 256gb ssd?

    Budget super important and the graphics are the same and it will most likely be updated soon according to mac rumors.

    I think for that prices, it may be better to get the newer model--but may be with a smaller SSD. It looks like for your needs the link offer may be just right. It is already 2-3 years old and will soon show its age performace wise in a next year or so.

    i found it for $50 less from a better retailer. still tempting. any other opinions. the cpu is prob fine for what I do but the fact that 4gb max ram scares me, although thats what the new airs have. i know big changes are coming up for apple (15 air) so i might buy then sell when the new ones comes out.

    That ThunderBolt port in the latest 2011 model also functions as a Mini DisplayPort. You can plug the very same cable in and connect to a display device flawlessly.
