Looking to upgrade my memory on my new MBP. Kind of undecided if I need more memory, but after reading this forum, seems like there is a definite performance boost. Was wondering if this was a good deal?

performance boost depends on what you are doing.

its a good deal though. you could probably even sell the memory thats in your mbp currently for about $30-40 or so and reduce your cost even further.
