    Hi,

What is the best way to get the best price for a MacBook Pro? I am looking at the $1999 one at the Apple Store. I know I can get better than the default $1999 price.

I can go through Ebates and get 2 or 3% off. But are there other ways to save? TailorMade? Other discounts/coupons to be found?

    Thanks.

The Apple Store for Education offers discounts. Go to The Apple Store and look on the right under "More Stores".

You could go refurbished...most people here will tell you Apple's refurb products are like new, and you really wouldn't be able to tell the difference unless you knew beforehand.

you would probably have to wait a bit for a refurbished macbook pro if you wanted the new santa rosa being that it just came out

    Thanks.

And do you buy refurbished directly from the Apple store, usually?

You could buy from Amazon and save yourself about $160 worth of taxes depending on where you live. Plus its selling price right now is only $1950.
